To celebrate 10 years of the 1532 Performing Arts Centre, we're going...
BACK TO SCHOOL WITH MARK WATSON
A special one-off night of comedy with former BGS student Mark Watson, back where it all began.
Mark Watson (Cox's/Jakobek's 1991-8; house debating champion 1997, runner-up 1998, no appearances for the rugby team) returns to the theatre where he gave his first public performances thirty years ago. The theatre's had some adventures since then and so has Mark - including a celebrated stint on 'Taskmaster', multiple TV credits, eight published novels, and sell-out seasons at comedy festivals across the world.
For those who were there from the beginning, here is your chance to see him without a dishevelled striped tie. A one-off night of standup from someone the New York Times described in 2026 as 'one of Britain's most beloved comedians' and his school report described in 1991 as 'lacking a little confidence'.
